Thinking of changing headliner in car.

Hi guys, I been pondering to do a headliner change from the cloth to the alcantara. My first question is how much to you think it's going to cost (ball park figure) and second what color would match best my black leather; and if anyone knows of a good place in OC. Thanks

I'd do black alcantara, and it will probably run at least $1500 or so.

I've been thinking the same for a long time now, why did MB use gray alcantara in the 600 and not the black like the S65? Let me know how it turns out, I'm in socal as well.

I did mine. Definately going to cost more than $1500 if you plan on changing the color.
I still have some of the original light gray alcantra parts from my swap.

Geez, if it's more than 1500.00 than I may pass on that or tackle it myself. Would'nt seem like a 1500.00 job, I'm estimating 300.00 is for material (covers liner, a,b,c pillars and sunroof), and 500-700 in labor. I have seen some guys do headliners and its hard but not 1000.00 hard. But you never know how much their time is worth to them. I will shop around.

It would depend if you are changing the color and want all the plastic parts to match. SOme of them are cheep, but others are very pricey.

I agree, I changed the headliner on my escalade from white to full black alcantara along with all necessary plastic pieces dyed for almost 3k. Its not just the headliner but also small things like the visors and pillars along with the plastic stuff. Also depends where you go (places like WCC or Platinum will probably charge close to 5k for such a job)

Since I couldnt' get the alcantra as an option on an s 550, that was one of the reasons I opted for the S 600. That would be my suggestion for you.
