Some questions regarding Distronic Plus CC. PLEASE help me!!

Can someone please help me out regarding the Distronic+ cruise control features?

1) when CC is activated, what are the speed increments that the system initiates when setting a higher speed? For example, if you have cruise control set at 60 mph and want to go faster, what mph increment will the speed get bumped up by? .6? 1? 5 mph?

2) How many different CC proximity settings are there on the new S class when using cruise control? I know in general it's 3 (a short proximity setting, a medium, and a long proximity setting), but I have heard there are 7 settings on the new E class??

Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you.

1) like on all new MBs, irrespectively if they have Distronic as long as they have CC, the increments are 1 km/h and 10 km/h (an equivalent approximately in mph). A soft touch at the CC lever makes the small increment, a stronger push brings the 10 km/h increment.

2) the distance setting is continuous, from 1 second to 2 seconds (the distance in metres depends on speed).

Diesel, thanks so much. But I am a little confused on on the answer for my second question.

I was asking how many proximity settings are available for a driver to choose from when activating the Distronic CC . Maybe this picture will help...

So for example, in the above pic, it seems like a driver can choose from 4 different proximity settings when activating Adaptive Cruise Control.

Thank you.

That picture is a BMW, not MB, just FYI in case you didn't know that.

MBs don't really use increments. You can adjust the actual distance you want your car to be from the car in front of you.

See post #2. I believe the maximum distance for European cars is 117 metres (2 seconds at 210 km/h, the manual does not mention the maximum speed for Distronic operation but I thought it was 210 km/h).
