Question would you have 22" wheels on your wifes s550

I have the wheel bug again. I originally installed 20" eurostyle MUNICH style wheels on her car and they look ok, not as aggressive I would like. I am thinking of installing 22" vossen VVS 078 (style).

When I was originally looking for wheels everyone (the wheel shop) stated that I should not install the 22's due to the typicial issues with the sidewall height and potential curb rash and flat tires. Wifey has always had after market wheels and is very careful. However she is now transporting our 6 and 3 year old girls.

I drive the car on the weekends and am not sure if it is worth the headaches that 22's usually bring.

thoughts ???

My wife's S550 sits on 22s. The 20s have almost the same set of issues giving the weight of the car. My wife is a better driver than me when it comes to wheels - I've bent and fixed one of the 22s, and she's had no issues :-)

What are the Vossen hoops made from? Are they CNC'd from cast, or made from billet forged castings or even a stronger alloy?

Run close to 50 psi air in your tires, that also helps. Most 22 tires accept max of 50 psi, but you have to vary depending on temperature. 45-psi in cold weather can become almost 60 in California summer.

+1, it totally depends on taste and your wife's driving ability.

Just make sure you take them off before going to the dealer or letting a valet drive your car!! It's like they run through speed bumps full speed on purpose when you ride on 22's..

I've never had any issues at the dealership, matter fact they sell 20, 21, and 22 inch after market wheels. Not you may have issue with the valet, but I think that's regardless of your wheels size. I'm sure those guys love cruise your ride.
