Is my S550 setup for a handsfree phone system?

I was told by my MB tech that my '07 is pre-wired, but he wasn't sure if I had the phone module in the car... What the best way to see if my car is ready to accept the bluetooth puck? The center console appears to have the mount point for the puck.

In the center console (the top compartment/the only compartment if you have the rear seat package) there's a small black cover. Just pry the cover off. Under there you'll see the plug for the bluetooth puck. Plug in the puck, go to Telephone, Data/Connections and it should be pretty self-explanatory from there.

All W221 S-Classes come with a hands free communication system not to be confused with "pre-wiring" which just means the car is capable of having a phone system. Just look in the center console for a plug like this one attached. The only exception where the car does not have a phone system is if it was a launch edition and they were shipping them without the kits early because of the lack of parts availability which was later added at the dealer by the customers request under warranty.

JonMBZ I am buying one of these launch cars... The dealer says that you can't add the bluetooth option. Are you sure that they added this under warranty? It seems strange to me that all of the options for the bluetooth are there but no connection...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Charles.

The car should be covered under warranty to retrofit the phone system. I would make the completion of the retrofit as a pre-requisite to taking delivery.

They can still add it, but it will no longer be an item covered under warranty.
