Wiper sensitivity?
My intermittent wiper sensitivity appears off - during very light rain it will sometimes wipe an almost dry screen. I have tried both intermittent settings.
Only an issue because as a result I get rubber buildup on the windshield quickly and I get squeaking.
It also occasionally does a single random wipe on a dry day when I turn corners (seriously!).
My previous Lexus LS worked just fine so I know how it is supposed to function.
I am guessing this isn't normal ...

The sensor sensitivity can be adjusted but usually too high sensitivity comes from a dirty windscreen or worn blades. Strong IR lights (sun reflections etc.) may make the sensor fail to measure water on the glass but this should be rare.
What about a wiring harness issue, have you checked the harness at the firewall area just where the wiper arms are attached? Some cars have had wear on the harness because of non-ideal routing.

I just always make sure the sensors are cleaned. That seems to solved my problem right away. I do find that sometimes sensitivty 1 and 2 are the same.
