$48K seems way too high. I think you'd be able to get a similar car for closer to $40K, even high $30s

maybe the one on ebay is from France, and is making a connection?

30's??????? Maybe if it was a salvage car.....

A great price on that car would be 46-47, it will probably find a buyer in the 47-48 range w/o a CPO. AMG cars command a nice premium...

I've been following threads/posts such as these for a while now and my main question is how can someone like me (who does NOT have access to manheim/dealer license) and can only buy pre-owned from either private party or retail dealerships get such pricing?? I know each time someone buys a car or inquires the word "Manheim" comes up but come on, not everyone have auction access and plus if everybody only bought at auction prices how do you guys expect dealerships to survive?? I'm sure for you business owners out there if everytime a client/customer walks in and only expect to pay your bottom line and no higher how would you guys feel?? Just my thoughts...

if you are fortunate enough to know someone with a dealer's license that is willing buy for you at auction, then that's what you are: fortunate. Don't be disappointed that others have good fortune and you don't, it's bad for your kharma.

if I was a business owner and someone insisted on buying at my cost, I would politely inform him that my prices are higher than that and wish him good day. I can't make him pay full price and he can't make me sell at cost.

Ain;t America great?

Not one dealer in the country, nor anyone on Ebay would sell that car for less than $7k more than you are talking. Unless it had an unfortunate meeting with a freight train or something...

check private sellers. honestly REALITY is there are tons of S550'S on the market with limited buyers.

I'm also close friends with the Mercedes GM here and have a pretty educated idea of what wholesale/retail is.

47k is a pipe dream but then again you know what they say " a sucker is born every minute"
So I'll stick with my opinion that the car is worth 42k max and I wouldn't pay that 4 the vehicle and I'm in the market.
I might just wait and buy at the end of the year and take a nice vacation because the 07 550's will drop 8-10k by then and I don't really need 1 at this time.

This is just my opinion and you may disagree but that's what talk/forum boards are for.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...item4ceea1a622

the above car sold for 45k with 20K less miles and more options. We can agree to disagree but I know what I'm being offered at the moment by 2 diferent sellers and 1 is car loaded with pano and LORINSER package 21k on the dial for $49K

Well dude if ya want, pay full price. Oh and when ya goto the market to buy groceries, tell the cashier you wanna pay full price. Now that I think about it, when you shop onlinedont use any coupon codes lol. I'm just saying, not all of us have bill gates money.

You just proved my point- That you have no idea what you are talking about!! THAT CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.

They have this revolutionary new thing called a carfax that can tell you the history of a car in many instances.

That car has a documented BAD history and STILL SOLD FOR $45K.

THANK YOU FOR PROVING MY POINT FOR ME....

The car your talking about had a scrape on the back bumper that was repainted
FAR from any type of MAJOR accident. A clean car fax don't mean a thing anymore. A car could get repainted without being reported and have a perfect car fax.. asking price and SELLING price of a car are 2 different animals .On one internet site alone you have more than 1,100 2007 S550'S for sale!!! that's amazing.
I just pointed out one instance. I'll take what I know... and that's there are many more sellers for this car than buyers due to all the lease returns. A great... great car but it's economics 101... current supply > demand
At the end of the year 2010- low mile 07 S550's will be in the 30's RETAIL. As I pointed out it's an OPINION end of story, don't make it a personal attack when you reply or some other demeaning remark. This is a forum for information and opinions- stay above the attacks beyond that.

Another example 4MATIC car same miles. Talk to them you can buy for less than 42k.

I would like to point out the title of the thread:

"How much would you pay for this?"

It is a request for opinions regarding price points at which forum members would consider purchasing the vehicle.

There is no one correct price, nor is there a correct range.

I would not pay more than very low forties for this car. That doesn't mean I'm "" or dreaming, it means I place the maximum price of the car in the very low forties.

Maybe arguing about what the correct price should be, and exclaiming that anyone that disagrees with you is stupid and clueless, could be moved to a different thread, or the moderators could open an entire forum? I'm sure there are enough opinions for an entire "Arguments About Prices" forum.

OK, now, continue on and have fun. And remember these famous words from Abraham Lincoln: "Be excellent to each other"

Low 40s is what i was thinking too, but i doubt they will take that. The email exhange tones tells me they want high 40s for it. Maybe come down to 46-47k, that's a lot for the mileage IMHO. i will continue to look.
