The best or nothing
Red face S65 exhaust on a non-AMG W221?

How does it sound? Can you tell a difference? It happened that I got a neighbor who has "S65 AMG" which looks and sounds like one but after quick examination of his girly brakes it isn't. Probably S500 at the most. So I guess I answered myself. But I'm still interested in you sharing your experience.

Few strategically placed hammer/nail pin *****s in exhaust piping should do the trick. Experiment with different locations and let us know

@Ahmedito

That exhaust sounds really great !
Deep and clear with authority..... without any diesel-truck-sound at idle and no flapping/slapping - just a nice snarl on revs:-)

I want one - is it only a rear muffler swap from stock to S65 plus added resonators ?

Can you please elaborate what parts (preferably with name/product numbers) you used so I can copy on mine ? :-)

He hasn't even visited the board in over 5 years, so you probably shouldn't be anticipating a response.

Upping this topic as im about to buy from ebay second hand genuine X-pipe and 2 mufflers from S65 AMG for my S550.
Would the sound be similar to the original if i put the original exhaust or should i go for a tested one such as Becker Exhaust kit?
I badly need to upgrade my exhaust and im not willing to delete the mufflers, to go straight pipe or to remove catalysts or resonators.

Please advice if someone has put the genuine amg exhaust after the lambdas and whats the effect?

UPDATE!!! S550 works PERFECTLY with S65 AMG Exhaust system. Direct fit before the X-Pipe. However needed reduction for the size of pipes.The sound is better than any other aftermarket sound i've heard. 90% same as the real AMG.
