So which windshield do I have?
I have a 2010 S550 with driver assistance but no night view assist.
The lane assist seems to use the same camera that night view would use (is this true?).
The manual says that a special windshield with fewer IR transparent zones is fitted to cars with night view, but makes no mention of lane keeping assist.
Yet when I examine my windshield for transparent areas I find the two that the manual says go with night view assist, and not the three that it says are in the standard windshield.
Does anyone know which windshield my car should have? It looks like I have the night view version even though I don't have night view.
Thanks.

This would be easier to look at if you would post your VIN. It looks like the windscreen for the night view option is not used with any other combination of options where 610 is not included.
The multi-purpose camera is different from the night view camera.

To follow up, I put my FasTrak transponder on the passenger side of the mirror/wiper sensor cluster and it doesn't work there. Which means the glass there is not radio transparent.
The transparent area, on the driver side, blocks my view so I would rather not put the transponder there, and the lower central transparent area means I have to stare at this rarely used white box every minute that i drive.
Could someone please elaborate on a good, safe location for a FasTrak/EZPass under the hood, for example, where it is not seen but works well?
I have read in another thread about a "rain tray" but I don't understand exactly what this means. (nick 55: "I have mounted a handful of Ipass(Illinois) transponders in the cowl of the hood. I just took the rain tray down from the bottom of the hood, and secured the transponder. ")
