Chrome or Alloy?

This may be a silly ask, but would folks please give some ideas/direction on whether to put chrome wheels on an S550? I still have an S430, upon which I have chrome, which I think is pretty and a seventies vintage SL450, which has chrome 14" wheels. I think the Sl and the S look pretty sharp w/ the chrome. But, I am wondering if chrome on the S550 is worth it. I am not thinking of putting 19 or 20" wheels on it. It looks pretty strong with only the 18" alloys, but sure would like others' thoughts. Thanks.

When you see all those chrome rims on Chryslers and Nissans, they start to look pretty tacky on an S Class, imo. The S Class is so nice that tacky -ing it up is a disadvantage and takes away from the car.

Even if I sometimes doubt them at first (W140 is a good example), in the long run I always end up agreeing with the choices made by the MB stylists.

As far as I know, MB has never officially offered chrome wheels (correct me here if I'm wrong) and therefore I wouldn't put them on my S.

Chrome or Alloy

Seems alloy is preferred. I guess chrome does kinda "trick" it up. Thanks much caring.
