Question DIY guide to replacing Tail-Lights

Just got the new FL tail-lights for my 08 S550 and was wondering if anyone has ever posted a DIY guide to doing it yourself. According to the seller, no SAM module is required and it's just plug and play. If anyone has a DIY guide or even a manual which shows the steps required to replace the tail-lights, that would be a big help.

Also, Ordered the LED license plate lights. If anyone has that guide, I'd appreciate that as well. Thank you.

Do some digging in this forum. Use the "Search" function. Lots of info written on the subject.

Good luck!

Taillights are easy, just removecarpet lining in front of the lights than remove the 3 nuts holding place. License plates lights are a little more difficult, requires trunk lid liner removed to access the bulb connectors than remove plastic trim (black 1) under the chrome trim that runs side to side on the outside. Be extra careful not to bend that black trim too hard otherwise it will probably snap.

BTW: I have a extra pair of the led license plate lights anyone wants them for $30 they're yours.

Thanks jta00r1. You were correct. The tail lights were easy.

The tricky ones are the license plate lights. I wasn't able to remove the plastic trim. There are two plastic screws on each side when you open the trunk. I couldn't get one of them off and I really didn't want to use too much force... so I put everything back to the way it was. I googled/searched this site but to no avail. No one has posted instructions on how to replace the lights. I'll keep searching the forums/web though.
