Strange thing happed while driving.
It's been a HOT week here in So. Cal (100+ degrees), I was with my wife and kids in the S coming back from furniture shopping going I say 30mph just cruiseing when all of a sudden all power went out in the car. I mean nothing was on, no engine, no electrical nothing and all this happened with both hands being still so bumping something is out of the question. Lucky no traffic was around so I coasted to the nearest parking lot, and took the key out and restarted up again, it hasn't repeated this episode again and hopelly ever again but has any heard of this? Just wierd BTW no error messages neither.

I thought of going to the dealer, but with no error messages those dummies would just come back and say "we can't fine any issues" and not do anything, had that experience before.

I would force them to check the PCM logs; this kind of failure may leave a trace there. It's actually a huge liability issue for Mercedes, so they should be most interested in determining the root cause. Call MB customer service line and complain as well, they can put pressure on the dealer.

This sort of happened to my parents' 2010 S600 - but not while driving. Left in the heat in Palm Springs (120°+) the electronics reset - the clock went to noon, certain setting lost etc.
I dismissed it as nothing important, but now I am more concerned.

That's pretty scary.
Ironically, I just came across an article to this unfortunate incident.
A W221 caught fire in L.A (on the 405 Freeway) in the last couple of days or so.

Definitely get it checked out by the Dealer! Maybe the electronics or "circuits" are overheating or something?
