Hi folks. New owner with a question or two
I recently became the proud owner of a CPO 2007 S550. I'm new to the forum.
First: Updating GPS maps. After a couple of weeks I learned that my GPS map is out of date, and was never updated. I asked about this, and was told that the dealer would simply install current maps on the car's hard drive, at a charge. Since I bought this CPO from the dealer, and since I assume it costs the dealer little or nothing to do this, I'm a little annoyed this wasn't done before I bought the car.
Second: I notice some pronounced wind noise when driving at highway speeds. The noise seems to emanate only from the middle top of the windshield. I do not have a pano roof, only the standard moonroof. I read somewhere that there was a seal problem on some 2007s, but thought this only was with pano roofs. Thoughts? Suggestions?

The map is a real easy thing for the dealer to do. My dealer did it for me for free, along with the telematics update, when I bought my car. They just insert a disc and it loads, they then keep the disc for the next car. I would make them do it as a courtesy. If not, some people on the board might be able to rent it to you (you only need to load it once).
Can't help on the second question...

The Nav disk is sold under a license from Navteq who actually owns the database. I suspect that a dealer who keeps the disk for the next car is in violation of the agreement. They probably just ate the cost.
