Help with headlight conversion harness installation

I ordered the harness to convert my headlights to the current model leds. I am hoping there is someone out there who is knowlegdable with this setup. I had my independent mechanic do the hookup to the STaR but he has run into difficulties. He sent me what he did below.

Removed 8 individual pins from old harness. And installed in empty plug on new harness. Ground harness left and right.
Ran wire bus to front sam and installed corresponding wires into individual plug connectors on sam.
Connect star diagnosis.
Enter sam and it says wrong control unit version.
Push continue.
Go into control unit version and nothing is highlighted.
And control unit is recognized.
Go into control unit adaptations and it directs me to SCN coding automatically.
Try to perform and will not let me.
Go into initial start up. And same thing happens.
Go into headlamp control unit and star diagnosis will not let me enter.

Is there something he has to do in EZS or central gateway?

Any thoughts on next steps?
Thanks

Where did you get your harness from? Did you change the Front SAM?

Do you have the number to mastertuning? I tried reaching them but had no luck. Only thru email. Did you do the upgrade already? Any info you can send me would be much appreciated, thanks, Jessie..

You cannot SCN code a control module with incorrect software for that year/model. This has been a long running issue. The only work around at least for the rear was to put it in a 2010 vehicle and do the SCN coding. I have never seen the attempt yet, but I haven't followed the progress in a long time to tell you any other info.
