Driver window
Driver window
Just started today. Window wont roll down. Nor can i hear any "click" when i press down the button.
Any idea what it could be? Because there's no click, i'm inclined to think its a fuse, but where? I hope its not the actuator or regulator
TIA

mine is '99 E320. got it from auction. the driver window is stuck in the up position. the switch appears to have been replaced. i can hear the relay click in the controller when i press the switch up or down position. a friend of mine measured the voltage out of the controller and was flaky as the switch being used 0-12-0. if the switch is not in use the v=0. the question is do i need a new controller or is it the software like u guys said. of course i pugged a new motor to it and nothing. a mechanic also looked at it fir $40 and told me the motor and the regulator are ok.
I also have an 07 S550 4MATIC and a couple of days ago the drivers side window stopped working. When I press the down button nothing happens.. All the other Windows work perfectly and the window lock button works too.. I have checked all the fuses and they are good, and I even pulled the ground cables off for both batteries to try and reset the cars electronics... Still won't work.. I am curious about this dealer procedure that "turns the window back on by updating its software". Also would like to know why it would just stop working and need an update..
2007, as well. My window's been balky, but works.
What's with pulling the battery cables? Does that clear existing faults and set things to factory default? What besides radio pre-sets, seat memory etc. would be lost? How long do you leave them unattached before reattaching? Anyone else do this self-maintenance and what does it fix?
Lotsa questions, but am curious, as it seems just driving past my dealer costs me $100+....

well, i was on a quest, i have friends who are experts on electronic repair, etc.... pus a shop who could not figure it out. finally, after several weeks of the door panel is removed and my window is not working, here is what i noticed. as the wiring raps around the door panel to connect to the motor, you will notice too much stress on the wire bundle. i bought a 12 volt electric tester from auto zone and chked the wire at the motor connector. at one point the light went on then disappeared as the connection was making contact. so i pulled on the geen wire but was very solid, when i pulled on the brown, hot wire, it came out of its socket. for all of you out there before u invest 2 much money into other stuff check the wiring inside the connector that plugs into the motor. my window now works fine, door panel bak on; but not before the moving window cought my finger and almost chopped it off, be careful moving the window and trying to pull the door closed without door pannel.
fix
this thread made me laugh... i am not a dealer tech anymore but I am still a mercedes tech. Yes, on a 221 the fix is a software update. there is no fuse that controls just the window. Its a main fuse for the DCM so if seats and everything in the door doesnt work, then fuse. But if its a window and only a window, needs to go to the dealer for an update. I just got done repairing one with said fix.
221.171/176/177/179 up to VIN A161249 reference DTB P-B-67.39/22b to flash door control module see here http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...e_inoperative/

I have an 07 s550. The driver's side window stopped working. Everything else works fine. I'm not familiar with how the VIN numbering system works so I don't know if my VIN is above or below the one Konigstiger references. I misunderstood what you were saying, Konigstiger. I thought you were giving the software update reference. I read more carefully and see you are saying it is the "flash door control module". Am I correct in my understanding?
What is a ballpark estimate of a new flash door control module????

Damn I just ran into the same issue this weekend on Friday everything works except for the driver side window. Just all of a sudden stop working no clicks no sounds nothing just stop working. So I guess his software update.
Silkz03, Konigstiger knows his stuff! The repair place said they had to replace the module because of extreme heat burning . . . something out. Don't know if that was true but at least I didn't have to pay for a new window motor AND module. I feel that the dealerships just keep replacing parts till something fixes the problem.
Yes, I would bet you need the software update Konigstiger references. Hope you have better luck than I did trying to convince the repair tech. that is possibly the problem. Mine got very offended! Basically told me he knew what he was doing and didn't appreciate being told about some fix I found on line. He was big enough to admit it wasn't the motor after all and did involve the software update.
I still have the printout of the referenced software update bulletin K. sent me. If you would like a copy, pm me your e-mail, I can sent it to you. It even references "extreme fluxuations in temperature".

bperez2014 can you please PM the software update bulletin that K. sent you. Thank!
Multimillboy, PM you're e-mail address & I'll send the DTB on the driver's window, as an attachment. There may be a way to "attach" a document in a PM, but I didn't find it. Rather than teaching this old dog new tricks, I'd prefer to just do it the old fashioned way. Easier for me & faster.
I've got a 99 E300 TD (W210) and my drivers side rear window isn't working (euro RHD car)
Going to do some checks now and investigate, will post update
