Question Wheel lugs 20 to 18 inch.

Need help.

Have the AMG Plus 1 package so 20 in wheel pkg. These wheels have Conti SportContact 2 tires for summer only.

So, bought OEM MB 18 in wheel & tire pack with Pirelli Sottozero snow tires. Today, I tried to fit the winter set to the car with the same wheel lugs that are already on the car serving the 20s. I snugged all five lugs on one winter wheel and there was so much wobble while the snow wheel was on the hub.

Anyone else with similar problem? Called dealer and they are shipping me some other bolts, though they said the original lugs should work. Dunno what's up, and I'm mechanically inclined so I don't think I did anything wrong there. Changed to snow wheels many times before, but I always has 2 sets of lugs. Given what I have now, it seems like the lugs are too long for the winter rims, which I guess makes sense given the dramatic difference in wheel width.

Please help!

Depending on the wheel and size.normally different lug bolts are used.you can double check by inserting the lug bolt through the 18' wheel and see how far it sticks through.usually 1/2in is enough.
