NEW COMER!

Hi Folks,

Current Audi A8 driver considering 07 S550 4matic. Need some guidance on buying, maintenance and warranty. What do I need to look for when buying one and any good warranty companies that will ACTUALLY stand behind their contracts. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

welcome to the forum...

My suggestion is to start how I started... read, read and then read some more. There is a ton of info already asked and answered in the threads. Start with pg1 and work your way back. You'll see lots of posts related to maintenance, after market warranties and a bunch of other very important stuff!

Welcome and happy reading!

Maintenance costs vary considerable depending on where you live. In Southern California, "A" service is usually available for between $130 to $140 and "B" serveice is typically $100 more. Service alternates between "A" and "B" once per year or 10,000 to 13,000 miles. This is the sale price. Typically one dealer runs a sale or publishes a coupon and most of the others in the area will price match. The price in other parts of the country are often two to three times higher. Most dealers will include a free loaner vehicle.

In addition to this, brake fluid needs to be changed every couple of years and transmission fluid about every 40,000 miles.

The only other significant expense for vehicles under 120,000 miles are tires and brakes.

This assumes nothing breaks or you have warranty coverage. If something breaks, it can be extremely expensive to repair. Most vehicles of been extremely reliable, but a few individuals have reported a major problem that was usually covered.

AAA has bumper to bumper extended warranty coverage. In MA,I got a quote for $3,600 5yrs/100,000 miles. $0 deductible.
