Ability to control ipod with aux hookup?

So I have been enjoying my new s550, but some annoyances with the ipod setup:

1: Its wired into the glovebox, which means I have to take my iphone out of my pocket and open the glove box each time

2: I cant seem to find a way to manually control the iphone while its hooked up (change playlist, album, etc..) - Right now, the car just plays whatever playlist is currently open, but its annoying to have to constantly unplug and replug the iphone every time you want to change a album

Any fixes on the second one?

Do you have an ipod kit or are you plugging in through the aux jack into your iPhones earphone jack?

Try the "end call" button on the right side of the steering wheel then the up/down buttons on the left hand side of the steering wheel. You should be able to figure it out from there.

If you have the real ipod cable and not just the aux/jackstick then choose audio in you dash hold the left phone button for 2secs then you can change playlist, podcast or whatever;-)

I have the real ipod kit. After I hit "audio" do I select "mp3" or "aux"? Also, what do you mean by "the left phone buton"?

Thanks

You choose aux... Then in your instrument cluster go to audio... Then you can see what song is playing.. If you hold the left phone button(hang up) for 2secs then you will access the menu and can choose playlist, podcast or whatever
