I did have to go back twice for it. I hade some issues when I bought the car. I asked if they could do the update while its there, no problem. Told me it was all done and they double checked it. Plus fixed my other issues..... I didn't know about the "video tab" so I assumed it was done. But then I had to bring it back. They did do the whole upgrade, and Nav too. I did get a loaner when I went back bec they said it could take an hour or it could take all day.

My dealer just updated the telematics for free (I said the Comand freezes up occasionally and the car is still under warranty) but wanted $375 to install Version 10 disk!

Ok so the update was a success! I have everything now traffic,video,birds eye and a few things im sure im forgetting. I would highly suggest to anyone debating on spending the money for the upgrade to just do it! you wouln't be disappointed!!!

Thanks for the great information provided here regarding the Telematics update!
Just got our 2007 W221 back with the Telematics update and the latest NAV update and it's like a brand new car! Having the birds-eye view definitely changes the driving experience. =)
Cost was ~$260 for the NAV update and Telematics update was done for free (under warranty? have extended warranty though not sure how the dealership billed it).
Also added the Bluetooth puck to finally get Bluetooth phone functionality and bring the W221 into the 21st century.
Thanks again for your contributions that made this possible for us! I wouldn't have even known/thought to ask had I not seen this post. =)

So for us in the US, the VIM module will allow me to drive and watch sopranos lets say?
1. how much is module
2. how hard is install / average price
also, I bought my 07 from MB, they already had bidseye view, and video option and also traffic, but how to i get the traffic to work? ill occasionally see a yellow road here and there.....also do i need to be in park or have parking break on as well? where is the parking brake located?
will the DVD player only play DVD's or vcd/svcd's as well?
