HELP!!!! Car isnt shifting out of 1st Gear
got a 2009 S350
Today for some reason the car refused to shift out of first gear
Shifting from P to D or R was quite jerky, and u hear a loud scraping noise and the car jutters when changing between them (alot worse than normal)
And once in D, regardless of if i chose Manual, Comfort or Sport, and i manually upshift, the car doesnt shift out of first gear. Redlines but wont shift.
The car just finished the 60,000km service a month ago.
does this mean the TCU needs to be reset/replaced? I hope this isnt a major transmission problem
Has anyone experienced a similar experience w their W221?
Got the car towed to MB. will see what happens

Ouch! I would guess just not shifting might be "limp home" mode but with the noises you mentioned (shifting to D,N, etc) it sounds like it could be a larger transmission issue... Is it possible during the last service a transmission service was performed and the fluids were either left out, not topped off or leaked out?
