USB Input Socket?

On a 2011 S550 I have 2 wired input connections in the glove box...the ⅛ inch stereo jack and the iPod.
The manual on page 230 shows 3 different connections. I don't have the USB plug.
Anyone know if the USB connection is an optional only item? I'm feeling kinda cheated.
Thanks

you have to purchase one at the dealer.

Really?

In my 2010 the USB socket inside the glove box was standard. Not sure if there would be an easy way to install one if purchased from the dealer.

It's on the left wall of the inside of the glove box.

You sure about this?
It looks like the two plugs that I have, terminate into one plug that fits a socket within the glove box. I think they failed to give me the three connection plug that fits the socket.
Hard to explain. I emailed the salesman. He said bring it by and we'd get it sorted. The car came with the Bang and Olufsen sound system. I'd think that would include everything, especially something as fundamental as a USB input.
Maybe not. We'll see.

on my 2010

there is a USB imput port on the DRIVER'S SIDE- SIDE of the glovebox. (A thumb drive fits there well but it can easily be dislodged.) The IPOD interface is on the PASSAGER's SIDE FRONT

I would have never discovered that USB socket.
Is it documented in the manual? Why does the manual show three wired input connections, one being a USB input? I guess it doesn't really matter. It is what it is.

EPASC...Sorry for being dense. I now notice you told me where it was.

It's found on the left wall behind the light...

That's no problem. On my BMW "d" there's a USB port in the center console and I've got a 16GB microSD card and a small microSD-to-USB adapter.Fits securely (where a thumb drive wouldn't) and you can get a lot of tunes on a 16GB chip. And if that's not big enough I've read that 32GB MicroSD cards are available.
