Ok,so my warranty was coming to an end soon.So I decided to take my car in to have it checked out the last time, and also I had some minor "clunking"noise under my driver seat. Well, the dealer found out that my driver seat rail was bad (defective). I forgot who here had that problem with there seat rail? And if I remembered correctly, the dealer told them that they couldn't replace just that specific part. Well that part is replaceable and I have the part#'s for it. Just a heads up for 07' W221 owners....if you have clunking-like noise coming from under the seat,I suggest you bring in the car,so that it can be looked at.

Hi phatisfy,
I sometime get a plastic-rattle like noise, but been unable to reproduce the sound.
how did you get the clucking noise?
is it when driving over speed bump / pot holes?
or at stop & go traffic?
or when adjusting the seat position?
or when sitting / standing up from the seat?
Thanks in advance

From Konigstiger's always helpful bulletin post at the top of the board....
P-B-91.10/147 MAR08 Cracking noises coming from the seat rails while traveling on rough roads, this may be due to not enough lubricant between the upper and lower rail at the end of the seat rail. Grease will be applied.
P-B-91.12/155 MAY08 Jarring/creaking noises coming from the bottom cushion, weight sensing seat bearing will be lubricated. If the noise persists, the seat-adjuster will be replaced.
P-B-91.10/165 JUN08 Noises from the front of the driver or passenger may be caused by the locking system of the storage container in the front of the seat lubricant will be applied to correct.

I get the clunking noise every time I go over bumps,or when the road is bumpy. The dealer did try to lubricate the rail. But the noise was still there after they test drove the car. They found out that the seat rail went bad after the seat was removed. I know another member here also had the same seat rail problem. So I'm guessing it may be some sort of defects on the 07" w221?
