front metalic clunking noise on S550 !!
When I start the Engine in the morning, the whole car is vibrating once you slightly accelerate. Around 1.500 rpms you feel the vibration the most. This wouldn't bother me as much, but... once you take of, when the car is reaching 10mph and up, you can hear a loud metallic clunking noise coming from the front right side. (sounds like a loose ballpoint) It makes that noise even if you're driving on smooth road, but only when you accelerate and the front end is not putting pressure on the tires. It is getting louder and louder when you accelerate and drive over bumps or small potholes! After the engine warms up/15-20 min of driving, you can barely hear the metallic cluncking, but it still drives like you have no rubber on the rims. It doesn't absorb any shock.
Now the interesting part is, Mercedes mechanics said my suspension is rock-solid! they didn't find any play in tie-rods, bushings, baljoints bla bla.... I guess they performed a VISUAL inspection only. Had replaced Engine mounts for the same reason. Still no result.
If anyone has experience with suspension (air matic, ABC, and so on..) please give me some hints or your opinion. I'm not 85 years old to just take it to the dealer, pay them 5,000$ to replace my air matic shocks and then pretend it's gone! no no..... I want to see what's going on there.
Thank you! Sorry for the very long description...

The exclamation mark was not for you, it was for the bad job the dealer did probably by replacing the engine mounts. They might just have forgotten to tighten up a screw.... On a 100k$ car

Check also the transmission mounts which tend to fail like the engine mounts do. Also even though the engine mounts are new, look for oil around them indicating a defect...less likely but possibly a damaged wheel causing the vibration?

Take your wheels off and see if the problem persists. I was going crazy couple of months ago thinking my motor mounts went bad after a few months of fixing them but it turned out to be bent wheels.
