Hi,
My English is not good but I hope you can understand my question.

I own a s 500 model 2007

On several occasions, the red triangle light up and the car brakes sharply for no apparent reason. No obstacles in the road, no cars...nothing. Very scary. Anyone who has experienced the same thing? What could be wrong?

sounds like your distronic is registering you about to hit something. Is your sensor clean and clear?

I believe this is just a faulty Distronic - have it re-calibrated.

Your english sounds better than many on this board! It certainly sounds like a sensor is throwing false alarms. You either need a recalibration or less likely a new sensor...

My car is now in the workshop. They can not find anything wrong with the system. But I know that something is wrong. Probably a sensor as you say. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the great feedback.

it did it to me on a new 2011... but it was the lane assist camera that see a solid white line coming up on an off ramp.
