2008 S550 4Matic AC Compressor won't stay on.

I can't get the AC to stay on in the car. I replaced the compressor recharged the system and still nothing. If anyone has any advice it's greatly appreciated.

A/C Problem

A/C compressor is not being recognized be the computer. You must take it to a MB dealer and get them to introduce them to each other. There is no other way unfortunately.

Yes, please post the result. My car is four years, two months off the boat. A-C worked up to fall/winter, when no longer needed. No warning lights kicked in, but no cold air, just outside/vent cool.

Took to mech. It had 1.4 pounds of freon, calls for 2.36. Computer automated fill, bleed etc. and still no cold. Mech is saying the compressor is shot. Is this realistic at 50 months? It's holding the freon, but not cooling. A-C clutch engages, but no cooling.

New compressor is $900. I'd sure like to check other wild cards before spending a grand + and still find it's not working. Any way of isolating the compressor's shot? All advice and guidance appreciated. Thanks.

I am have A/C problem also, The auto climatic control had been on at all time and has been working great all winter. Two days ago weather got hot to 80's the auto on and show max cool but no air coming out from vents. Appointment have been made to the dealer, still under warranty. Wonder if it will cover this problem.

Mechanic told me this is a known MB issue. There is a TB on it. It seems the low pressure line starts to breakup sucking debris into the compressor and destroying it. He replaced the compressor, drier and low pressure hose to the tune of $1800. Works great but this stuff just shouldn't happen in a car this exspensive. My is a 2007 S550 4matic with 59k and naturally out of warranty.

Bear--see you are online. Visited indi today. No known fault codes. AC worked o k last summer. Checked freon level a week ago. Was low on freon. Reloaded to prescribed 2.36 level. Via COMMAND, if I click on AC, lower temp to "lo", compressor kicks in (can hear and feel rpm draw). Compressor only stays "on" for maybe 30 seconds and shuts off. It so small a time, the tech can feel the hose start to get cold, but no cold air reaches the vents prior to the compressor shutting down.

The net is there are no known faults. The compressor does kick in. The freon level is as dictated. I did have telematics updated over the winter. Any ties to that? Another forum suggested that, but no faults showed up.

What's "reintroducing"? Is this something only a stealership can do? Indi says replace compressor, drier etc. I don't wanna buy, pay labor and still have no AC.

I am not averse to replacement, but also don't want to piddle away a grand and still not have a fix.

Help/advice from you and all is dearly appreciated. Thanks.
