Here she is...
new to me 08, White on Savanna Cashmere, p2, rear seats package and pano roof.
As a bonus, it's got 22" Iforge 2 piece already on the car, it's the exact style that I was eyeballing for an S when I get one. The offset seems off because the tires light right up to the edge of the fender. I want to drop it by another 1.25 cause the gap looks like I can stick a baby between it the way it is now.
I didn't expect to find one with a pano roof and the wife said she didn't care for it but after seeing it we both agreed that the pano roof made a big difference. You see white S550 all the time but when you see one with a pano roof, you always find yourself taking a double look. There are a few things that I need to bring into service for, IE: alignment, get the wheel hoping issue checked out but other than that everything else is just right.
So instead of taking the usual route on i5 to drive home from SoCal to NorCal, we decided to take the long way home on the PCH. Along the way we stopped at a few Vista point and took a few shot of her since this is probably going to be the only time we'll ever get to drive her this way again.
Coming from a W211, this car is way more superior.

debating on adding a spoiler. The original plan for an all white car was to have a trunk and roof lid but on this car I think i'm just going to do one on the trunk.

I presume you meant "hopping" of the wheels? Are you finding this when car is still and you move the steering wheel right or left and you feel a hopping feeling in the steering wheel and the front wheels "chatter" or hop off the ground while turning? If so, please, please share what you learn.I have had this for a year. No 100% fix from the MB dlr. nor my indie. It hasn't gotten worse, but just shouldn't be happening.
If you are addressing a different "hoping" in the car, pls. disregard this. But, if another reader is experiencing what I am stating and found a fix, pls. share.
Thanks.

That's exactly what I'm experiencing, at a stand still it feels like the wheels is skipping when turning left and right. You can also feel this on the steering wheel as well. What was the fix for it? Do you remember? I'm dropping my car in for a courtesy inspection tomorrow morning, we'll see what they come back with.

with 22's I'm sure you can feel every imperfection in the road. That might be contributing to the steering wheel vibrations/hopping?
Make sure the 22's are road force balanced. I had a slightly bent Carlsson 2/5 19" wheel on my C-Class a couple of years ago and it solved the problem.
Congrats on the beautiful S550! Looks very nice, definitely drop it a little more.

Geez, now I don't feel so alone or thought of as nuts when I present the hopping and chatter complaint to the dealer mechs and the independent I use.
No "fix" has ever been provided, either here or by a shop. I can only sense it when stopped. In a parking lot and have to turn wheel at standstill to go in a certain direction, for example. Again, it's no worse than it was a year ago, but should not be happening at all.
Two observations. In the hoist area of my indie, it hopped like heck on dry cement. Squirt water and car wash soap under the tires, reducing friction and there's no hop--untill it dries, of course. They still hop on hardened snow, tho'. Strange.
Second, I had the front wheels/tires removed and those off another s550 put on (different brand and wear level). I wanted to eliminate my Continental conti's weren't the culprit. No changes; same hopping. One writer mentioned wheel size etc. Mine are stock 18" and are the "from the factory" Continentals.
It's really annoying. Anyone with any insight, pls. share. Could it be faulty tie-rods, other steering related pieces are bad? It appears quite a few of us have this, but have been silent. Thanks.

Actually, on my C320 with 19's on it my Idler arm bushings completely wore out and I was hearing a knocking occasionally and could feel it through the steering wheel. Might be a similar issue? It was a low-cost fix.
