It really depends on what kind of grey you like. I haven't seen the Designo Grey yet so I like Flint or Steel Grey.

I'm leaning towards the designo paint also...yes it's a repaint job and yes my dad prefers grey. But I just can't find a good reference for how it looks in real life since the configurator on mb's website shows a really light grey instead of dark grey.

Here are pics of my 2007 Graphite Designo. I thinks it is pretty. Others do, as well, as Honda now has the combo, as does Hyundai, Nissan and others. I have put in an interior pic, too.

I'm also a Designo graphite driver. I'll say that I believe it is really hard to capture this paint in a photo. Seeing in real life is so much better. But, this was the bottom line for me, I liked how it looked in pics but was thrilled when I saw it @ delivery. I don't see how you could be disappointed by this color. It's great, and has so much depth and complexity.

Anybody know the paint code for designo graphite? I searched and it's supposed to be 041 but it says it's graphite green?

Most stealerships won't even ask you your VIN 'till getting your credit card number for billing.
This is off my Datacard.
SA Code:
041U Designo Graphite Paintwork
Good luck.

I "almost" bought meaning I did the paperwork and had to come back the next day on a palladium grey, I wanted flint as I don't like the silvers (boring outdone color to me) but it was sold while I was at my dealer. Came home and stressed all night li=ooking at pics convincing myself palladium was a real grey but it just wasn't. Then after staring at it a while I thought the rim colr was off on the sport pack, so I thought about color match to the paint the wheels or black as the silver wheels look good on a darker color but on a colr that is in the same silver/grey shades it was just off. Meaning the sport wheels to me look good on a black car or an iridium car but I don't like iridium. So after all night stressing I went in and got an 11' black even though I was giving my wife an 07' black one. Just my seriously stresful dilema about grey... Anyway love mine, pano, radar, night vision, sport plus one, the works.. and even though I was a hater at first.. love the lights. Wife's 07 is boring.
