My conversion plus rims, lowered

Here you go, partial/budget conversion without headlights and mirrors
Rims are 20 Amg replica 9.5 all around (wanted to go with 21' but couldnt
find replicas in that size)
Lowered with ghost links, is anyone else had problems with rear link loosen
by itself after driving for sometime which leads to raising car to insane suv level?

Looks great! How is the ride with the rims and drop?

Was it 5mm for the front and rear?

Thanks, ride is bumpier than before ofcourse, but after roadforce balancing it got softer, plus i havent done alignment yet, which is going to help too. Yes its about 7-10 mm, but i want to go lil lower cause the front looks lil high

Looks great! I would go with some 10mm spacers in the front and maybe 15mm in the rear

Its the one that car manufacturers do to the newly built cars, it makes your ride very smooth and soft, and for better results recomended after alignment.

Car looks great. I think you made a good choice in wheel design and drop.
Nothing looks too extreme, just classy but different enough to turn heads.
21's can look a little ghetto if you don't choose the right design.....especially with chrome.
Your's are on the money.

Thanks. I was looking at 21s because this was my decision point for the rim style and size (not the color of the car thou)

The difference between 21 vs. 20 are negligible in my opinion.

Your car looks great!

Thanks my friend, just a littile more drop and like others suggested some spacers would complete the look.

Stick with the 20s. Thank me when it comes time to buy tires

I agree on adding spacers, as well. The rear height looks great, but the front could come down a little bit. Looks good overall. Try some loc-tite or similar thread locker on the lowering links.

Why do you recommend to use loc-tite on the links? It's not like the link will be able to twist?

I tried the same actually with the links going apart and the car going into ML mode hehe

The ride is so bumpy cause of the links if you use a real lowering module like the one from renntech you can hardly feel a difference...

They make thoose wheels in 9x22 replica's ive seen them on ebay a couple of times..

Other than that the car looks really good, cant wait to get the facelift frontbumper on aswell

Its not that bumpy though, i doubt that renntech will b any difference, because any lowering solution reduces the air that is in the struts which makes car bumpy due to smaller amplitude of the struts.
Thanks but i ve seen 22s also, but i really think that this rim style is just perfect size in 21s.

arien,

HOw do the fogs work? Do they act as day time lights or just turn on when you want them to at night?

Can you share what did there..did you have to rewire was it plug and play?

Thanks'

The links "cheats" the systems, lowering module works with the system, ive tried both links and now i got the module and there is a big difference at least with ABC

I didnt connect them yet. But there are couple of options:
1 Connect to them to fog lights and add resistor in between
2 Connect directly to ignition, so they will act like DRLs (WhiteOnWhite suggested this)
3 Rewire and connect it to the DRLs that are in the headlights. (Hardest method for me)

Personally i will connect them to foglights switch. My electric told me it will be the safest way, so if something goes wrong it wont mess up ur computer or smth, just a resistor.

I dont know maybe there is a difference. I am just assuming that either way struts will have less air in them which will reduce the amount of road imperfectness it can swallow.
How would you rate the difference with module versus the links?
Like if stock is 10/10 then with links and alignment done, for me is like 8/10
