Bluetooth Phone Issue

2007 Designo. Phone is found and functions okay. Issue is call lists. I used to toggle to Call Lists and find the 20 most recent inbound and outbound calls. A nice feature for call backs etc.

This feature no longer works. When entered at Call Lists, a popup shows, "Updating Data, Please Wait......" There's an "OK" tab, too. The net is it never updates. It just shows the clockface like circular indicator going around and around, but it never completes. I thought maybe I was too impatient, so I let it grind for five plus minutes...same activity as when started.

I can live w/o the convenience of who called/who I called history, but it is not updating new entries I add to my Samsung phone. That's the biggest downside. If I want to call someone I have entered in the past months, I have to manually use the phone.

I had the dlr. do a Command update nine months ago. I had the latest Nav cd data loaded some months ago

The net is could those have impacted the feature? As mentioned, the function worked at one time.

Any ideas on a fix? A fix w/o paying umpteen hundreds (out of warr./no extended) to the dlr. to screw it up more or screw something else up?

Again, not a mission critical function, but nice to have working.

Thanks.

I share the same problem with my 07.. I wonder if one would reset back to factory defaults and reload the data if it would straighten itself out ? I am not able to fig out a way to just delete the address book so I suppose all the settings in the telematic would go back factory settings.

Not all phones will upload call & contact lists. See this link.

I assume you've unpaired the repaired the phone to see if that helps, since that would be the logical first step.

After that, by any chance did you update your mobile recently?

If not, it could be the COMAND update if the problem started around the same time.

From what I know the iPhone bluetooth is not compatible with the 2007, and you need an adapter.

what adapter are you referring to? in order to connect bluetooth you need to get the BT cradle anyway i believe. and with that adapter, i connect my iphone just fine. the factory bluetooth that you can select in the vehicle command menu, i don't even know what that's for

you don't particularly need that. that's only if you want to physically connect the iphone (which personally i don't see the need).

or you can just get the bluetooth cradle like this if your car is pre-wired

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Genui...item4aaec4f82e

then just program the phone / bluetooth and it will connect that way

MB e550 2009 Bluetooth - We have two iPhones; can I have TWO Phone Books separately on the COMMAND unit so the phone is automatically recognized and points to the Right Phone Book? I have to download the Ph Book every time now after my wife uses the car. Thanks
