Audio/Video input in the glove box?

How do I enable this? You know... the red/blue/yellow connector on the right side of the glove box. I look all over and couldn't figure out how to get this to work.

I got my phone hooked up to it and went through all the inputs on the command and got no sound.

If your car has them then it should be listed as Aux in the video inputs. Select Video then select it again to open the available inputs. If it isn't listed then the dealer will have to enable the option in STAR

Did you tune up the volume a lot?

Of course I did, I played a song w/o it plugging in on my phone to make sure I hear it, max the volume on the phone then plugged it in.

What type of cable are you using to plug this phone in? Is it 1/8" Headphone jack to 3 RCAs? Make sure your phone doesn't require any proprietary cable. If your cable doesn't output video from the headphone jack then the 1/8" Audio/Video RCA cable won't work since the contacts on the headphone jack will be in different spots then what is required by your phone.

I use my phone like this for my other cars all the time, just a 1/8" to 2 RCA and into the inputs...

My other car have an aux input which should be no difference.

I used this same cable and hooked it up to my home theater and I get music just fine.

When I last brought my car in for service I had them look at this because it just doesn't make sense and they said everything seems to be working. When I got the car back I never bother looking at it until recently.

Have you tried any other sources in those inputs?

Not on the phone, it may not even change the "line output" towards the car but the car volume setting? Typically the AUX input requires a lot higher volume setting compared to the radio, CD or other sources.

Perhaps you should have heard at least something with the standard settings.

Does this car have the iPod kit? Perhaps the AUX wires are disconnected, if I remember right, the simultaneous support of AUX and iPod appeared only recently.
