Driver seat enter/exit option in COMMAND
Through COMMAND and Vehicle tab, there's an option that automatically raises the steering wheel and moves the driver seat back to make exiting easier. Conversely, it moves the wheel down to a programmed position and moves the seat forward to a programmed position when entering. I love the option (I am 6'3" & 285 #'s).
Here's my ask---To get the option to work, I must have the seat forward quite far. My knees literally touch the bolster. Not the most comfortable. Can the thresholds be reprogrammed? That is, can the point in the seat travel be changed and the option still work? If I move the seat back to give me more room, push "M" and "1", the option doesn't work, as I must have moved the seat back beyond a software acceptable point. I move the seat forward to near knee-touching, push memory and one and voila', the option works.
Again, due to my size, I love the seat back for entry ease and moved back for an easier exit.
Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks.
PS-Dealer SA said they could not be changed. But, who hasn't found them not always right?

I was about to say: "this time the dealer was probably right" but I had a look at the seat version coding options and it does have several settings:
Change standard distance of travel
Change minimum distance of travel
Adjust end of forward range
Adjust beginning of rearward range
I believe it is the last one that you are after. You should see which setting is currently programmed, Star does not allow all values but settings in a specified range (to leave at least some space for rear passengers for safety reasons).

DB, thanks for the very informed reply. I'll contact the SA and "suggest" there are programming flexibilities. If I get a run around, I'll have some ammo.
You are always there for us with tech questions. Speaking surely for myself, but likely for most on this site, please know your involvement and expertise are really helpful and appreciated.

That's likely because you have your driving position pretty far back. If you move your seat closer to the front of the car and set the memory that way, your auto exit feature should begin working.
