The shape is almost the same as the older model. Only difference is the arrow shape signal?

The only reason I am still pondering this switch is the install. Is it a simple plug n play like the rear lights?

hope it won't throw any error codes?

It is my understanding that it is just the housings themselves, all the guts from your orginal mirror carry over.

Takes about 30mn-1hr to do both mirrors. Just to give an idea how easy/hard is the install.

I have serious doubts about this given that this is only a cover and the mirror glass is smaller and has a different shape on the pre-facelift vehicles. I suspect ou would also have to purchase new mirror glass. Are these covers compatible with folding mirrors?

There's members here that has them. All it is are outter cover that replaces your stock ones. All was changed were the led signal lights, and minor shape. All functions will work including the folding option. The oem glass is also swapped over too.

if what they show in the ebay link is what they have for w221, the shape looks similar to what the pre-facelift and nothing like the square design of the factory w221 post-facelift. so in that case it's very possible it's just a direct swap

It is a direct fit. No new glass needed. The cover looks the same as the original. Only the blinker is the different arrow look and you can get them with a chrome frame. No errors and you get really cool bright LED light under it litting thr ground. It is a bit tricky to get them in place. Had them on ,y W219 and it uses the same mirrors as W221. I would have installed them on my W221 if it wasent that I bought the actuall facelift mirrors for it.
