So i just installed the 2010 facelifted LED tails on my car and i have run into a problem. When I unlock with the remote, on the drivers side the orange signal portion flashes and on the passenger side the entire red portion lights up. I only found 1 plug on the back so i dont know why this would happen.

can someone please help me out

i tried unplugging the connector a few times on the driver side and when i would arm the car, the red lights would flash just for a moment and then back to just the bottom signal light flashing.

on the passenger side only the red leds flash during arming not the amber ones

 

That's not the only problem you have, you just haven't noticed the rest. I suggest you search this forum for more information.

 

I've been reading the threads on this subject but i dont see what other issues may arise? It seems that everyone who has the new "plug and play" lights hasnt had any problems.

 

so i left the car on for about 20 minutes but no changes in the lights. i disconnected both a few times and then the driver side began working properly and the passenger side had only the signal working.

very odd, im going to call mb tomorrow see if they can do a re-flash for me.

My right light is loosing a couple of LEDs and i think i might just get a set like yours. Hope not to run in to the same issue.

 

Where did you get your tail light upgrades from, and are you able to return them? Fishcake was recommended on several threads and I need to know moving forward if this is an isolated event or a recurring one.

 

i messed around with the wires a bit, made sure everything was plugged in firmly. I noticed that in the plug located in the tail light, the connectors werent sticking out evenly. i pulled the contacts out a bit and then everything started working fine. It was something to do with the plug thats locatd in the the tail light itself.

ive had them for about a month or so now and they are working great.

 

i got mine from fishcakes after reading the threads. i think this was an isolated incident. everything was wired correctly but the problem seems to lie within the plug thats connected to the tail light. The connectors werent seated properly so i fiddled with them a bit. and after that they worked good. I did contact fishcakes about the problem and he said i would need to ship the lights back and after inspection they would determine whether a replacement would be sent. i didnt want to deal with the hassle so i ended up messing with them until i got them to work.

 

whatever happen here? how did they hold up

 

i had two from fishcakes that did that. they are erroring, get a replacement. he sent me a used defective one to replace my defective one. lol. good luck, it's broken.

 

I got mine from fishcake too had a problem with them, he sent me resistor kit thats plug and play, 6 month later all led rows except in top corners went out, i resoldered everything with new wires, yesterday went out again. I noticed that ebay seller "expresspart" has them too but the connectors are diferent, anyone bought it from him before???

 

Will OEMs create error codes or work better? For the extra heartache t may be best if igomthatbroutentonsafe myself the agrivation is possible

 

I would order the facelift tail lights from expresspart on eBay. Mine work flawlessly, no errors whatsoever. I bought them off the recommendation of others in this forum, particularly in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/new-s-cla...hers-s550.html.

I avoided fishcake due to all the problems reported with their tail lights in earlier threads.

 

Yes, I bought mine from expresspart. Simple plug n' play and no errors.

I was just contemplating the black or clear look there are two styles Im not talking about the smoked ones entirely ... One has the black lines instead of clear thats all I wish there were pics of them on so I can see what it looks like on a black car

They look hot but almost resembles a piece of electrical tape across the light. I think I'm going to go with the clear ones. He has done an incredibly impressive job on his car

 

I ordered mine from expresspart after reading the feedbacks and threads started, set to arrive on Thurs will go ON Thurs cant wait to change the look I cant stand the black bar on the '07's
