Metal Brake Noise?
Whenever I tap on the brake pedal, it sounds like metal banging against metal. After this initial noise, when I step further into the brake pedal, the noise goes away. The noise only comes when I step approximately 1/4 of an inch into the brake pedal. During this quarter of an inch when I'm stepping in the brake pedal, the car doesn't slow down; the only thing that happens is the metal clunking noise. Does anyone have any ideas of what's going on??? Thanks

i dont have a problem stopping, but when i start driving the car the first time during the day, my brakes make a really loud screeching. after driving for a few minutes the noise is gone, its very annoying, my mechanic didnt see any problem, even after cleaning the brakes.
