I drove the 2012 S550 4Matic today...

...and I like it!

The new engine is a noticable upgrade over the old power plant. If you get the chance, do it. I believe you may be pleasantly surprised.

I definitely agree...I waited for the new engines to come out since 2010 and I'm glad I did.

If I win Power Ball I'd consider the Bluetec.Until then I'll just have to muddle through.

2012 S350 Bluetec
I drove a Bluetec a couple of weeks ago. What a ride! And I thought my E was nice. I am going to order one and do the European delivery. That all looks like just too much fun!

I second that...drove it today and it does feel stronger. Though I'd wait two years or so to see how this engine does ( plus the car will cost 30 k less )

I'm on the schedule to have mine replaced in late 2013 when my lease ends, so we'll be into the new body style by then but I do look forward to getting behind the new engine permanently. It is a very nice change for the car, and it makes a nice noise.
