Why do you guys mentioning air pressure all the time....are you talking about air suspension not hydraulic? My car have ABC(hydraulic) and i have Lorinser links but i did not installed it yet cuz i got everything to make it S63,brakes,bupers kit, side skirts, door sills,20 rims, exhaust, carbon trunk spoiler,steering,signs...everything original and i am going to install it all at once!
So now after reading this im thinking i wasted my money on lorinser links if star lowering is better!I want to lower mine only 30mm....

2010 S550
I just lowered my S550 about 2 inches, big difference on the ride. The fronts feels like it's bottoming out. I think I'm going to raise it a 1/2 inch and see how that feels. I'm using the http://www.adjustableairride.com/ links.

I had those links at my SL500 with ABC-suspension. The car was like yours, I had to raise the car when driving to get better ride quality.

Last night I raised it about a 1/2 inch (4 turns) and the ride is like stock! Amazing difference in the 1/2 inch. I'm now.

Yes for the w221 it's two in the front and there is only one sensor for the rear.

I think that stock AMG is 30mm lower that regular stock W221 so i think thats the best thing to do....30mm lower!
Can someone confirm?

Also i got four links in my kit so i guess air suspension has 3 links and ABC has 4 links.

that makes sense. can anyone with a s63 or s65 confirm? my old cl does have both the rise/lower button and a ABC botton where my S400 only has the rise/lower because it doesn't have ABC. will install the links today and report back.

Maybe you could check with the guys at www.adjustableairride.com? They have one kit for all models "with ABC Sport suspension" and one kit "without ABC Sport suspension".

how do you guys reach the rear link without jacking up the car or working in a pit? the front ones are easily visable but not the rear one. plus, do you guy just use the factory jack? where do you put the jack stand? don't feel comfortable getting under the car without a solid stand. looking under the car, one can now see why a S class cost 100k.

The rear is hard to get to. You have to get way underneath, etc. The best thing I would do is to get yourself a set of those plastic ramps and reverse up onto it. Buy them for $40-50 at your local auto store and it's a good investment if you plan on getting under the car alot as it's easy to lift your car.

Otherwise, you can use a jack just make sure you get the jack stands for support.

Also when you put the link back make sure you get the position of the link correct or shocks won't raise up.

Good luck.

ok. i think i'm going to find a garage with a pit since we need to adjust it to get the right height. too dangerous to back up onto a ramp repeatly. don't you need to car to be level when you adjust?

Yes the car has to be level if the car is on. Make sure if you do go the ramp route that you shut off the car and keep the keys away very far so the computers don't turn on.

But since you're using a pit this doesn't apply

Sure no problem.

Yes is more towards the drivers side. You have to reach you hand pass the exhaust pipe..hard to explain but if you are underneath the car, you'll see it..

and don't burn yourself from the pipe!

If you are hiring someone to do it make sure that they put the link back the correct way exactly as it was positioned..

There is another thread about this if you search for it...
