well after 7500 miles on my 2011 S550 started getting slight unusual sound from the engine pulley. also when looking at it while engine is on the pulley looked a little wobbly. So took it to park place motors is Dallas and had a mechanic take a look at it. he too thought it was the pulley but was surprised to see this on such a new car, especially when the pulley only drives the AC and the alternator, not the steering pump as that is fully electric. I will know something by tomorrow as to what the actual diagnosis and fix is. keeping my fingers crossed. The sound would be more pronounced when the AC was on.

i had same problem too.. but warranty replaced.. and now no more sounds..

Is it a major job where they have to take engine parts apart or is it on the outside.

completely accessable w/o engine pull.

Ive got 07 S550 with 56K and im starting to hear a little squeak at idle.
Also just replaced 2 pulleys on my wifes 06 CLS500 with 46K miles.

Idler pulley replaced under warranty, within 24 hrs. I am a happy camper.
