Downshift button

Does anyone know of a way to disable the *^*^&*^$#Downshift button on the bottom of the left side of the steering wheel.. For some reason I press it at times and dont realize it.. I have had the car for 2 yrs and never seen a reason to use it..

Take the steering wheel off and disconnect the wire.

I was thinking maybe a dab of clear silicone seal that would be removable.. but ja.. I probly should reinstall the wheel..

2007 S 600 / '06 911 Porsche C4S cab
Here's a thought...try using it intentionally. I also drive a 911 and appreciate downshifting when going into a curve or when traffic slows ahead.
So with my S 600 I'll hit the downshift button once or twice and the car gears down nicely without having to hit the brakes.
Maybe if you start using them you may get to like it and save the hassle of it all...
