Hi,

Does any of you owning a W221 happen to have a ruler tape (and a car) at hand?

All the specifications say is that the trunk is 506 litres, but I'd be interested to know in practice the maximum length of luggage I can make fit into it. In other words, what is the width of the front wall of trunk, and what is the maximum depth measured from front to back. The height is of less importance, but would be nice to know too. Doesn't have to be laboratory accurate either, an inch or a few cm here or there makes no difference.

The reason to ask? Well, the car upgrade to W221 is in my long term plans, but I should know sooner if I'd need buy or cut my hobby gear set shorter..

Found out the answer today myself, so just in case you need the information:
The trunk is slightly larger than in W220 -
Width at the front is 91 cm / 36" in both (except in W220 the tank fill tube takes 10 x 10 cm from one top corner)
Height is around 45 cm / 16" in both
But the depth is 100 cm / 39" in W221 vs. 89 cm / 35" in W220
So, whatever fits to W220 will also fit to W221 - I¨ll use our W220 as my gauge from now on...
