W221 Panoramic Roof smashed!

W221 Panoramic Roof smashed!
Hey Fellas
Just had a nightmare with my panoramic roof!
To start with on my W221 driving down the motorway when a stone chip flew off a truck a smashed the front section of my roof glass!
Not either of the big pieces, but the small one at the front, think they call it a baffle!
Anyhoo took it to MB to get a quote
They want £6000 to replace the WHOLE friggin roof! Apparantly there is pieces of glass all up in the tracks! Pissed!
However they offered to replace the just the glass for £1200, but it would leave my pan roof non-operational!
The explanation they gave was "apparantly" the glass comes as a whole unit and they would have to take down the roof lining and everything!
The part cost £300
So I phoned up a windscreen company
Who said they could fit it for £600, half of what Merc want!
Anyway they also gave me the whole spiel of how much work there is!
But I decided to go for it!
Dude came round, took off the broken section, vacuumed up all pieces of broken glass
And literally just "PLACED" the new piece on with a bit of adhesive!!!
WTF!?
Have I just been done??
Can't believe I just paid him £300 labor for 20 minutes of work
So anyone out there that has this problem, defo phone around for a good quote, personally I wouldn't pay more than £50 for that!
