MB prepaid maintenance - is it worth?

Wonder if folks here have purchased it? I have an 07 S550 fully loaded - and only have 22500 miles. It also has the extended limited warranty for next 3 years.

MB recently sent me an email saying I could save 30% by purchasing pre-paid maintenance for periods of 2, 3, 4 or 5 years, but they don't mention the price.

Any idea how much pre-paid maintenance would cost for a 3 year term? (In my case, that would be Service B, C and D).

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks guys.

It depends on the price of regular maintenance at your local dealers.
It is NOT worth it in Southern California because there is almost always a dealer advertising "A" service for $150 or less. Most of the Southern California dealers will price match any other dealer. Service "B" is nothing more than service "A" plus replacing the cabin filter which is currently advertised here for $70.

From what I have seen, service is much more expensive on the east coast which MIGHT make prepaid service attractive.

Following is the list price from MBUSA
Mercedes-Benz Star Service Prepaid Maintenance for 3 Years or 30,000 miles $805
Mercedes-Benz Star Service Prepaid Maintenance for 4 Years or 40,000 miles $1,839
Mercedes-Benz Star Service Prepaid Maintenance for 5 Years or 50,000 miles $2,035

I assume this only covers "A", "B" and other regularly scheduled maintenance listed in the manual.

It most likely does NOT cover brakes, wiper blades, and other items. I assume the $1000 bump in price for 40,000 miles is for the required transmission service.

Great, thanks for the info.

Over here in the NYC area, I'm being quoted $200-$250 for Service A (or C), $350-$450 for Service B. Service D will probably be $400+ since it involves a trans fluid flush.

So, for me Service B+C+D would cost around $1k, so maybe the prepaid is not so bad.

BTW, can u buy the prepaid warranty directly from MB or do you have to buy it from a dealer?
