Bluetooth Help

Hey everyone,

I recently traded in my '08 C350 for a '07 S550. I have the updated telephone version as well. I also have the black Mercedes Bluetooth module but I don't have a cradle in the arm rest. Does anyone have an idea as to how much it cost to have the cradle installed? Is the cradle located somewhere else? What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

No. There is nothing in the center console except those two tiny buttons. The i and the wrench buttons.

Mine has a small connector near the front of the center console. That is where you must plug in the Bluetooth adapter puck. You dont put the phone in any cradle.. just leave it in your pocket..

Yea I understand that part, the only problem is that there is nothing to connect my puck to. The top part of the center console is empty. There's nothing there but those two little buttons. Nothing else. I'm guessing that I have to add this connector but I'm guessing it's going to cost me an arm and a leg. Any idea how much it would run and is it worth it?

Follow the discussion. It appears that some early production vehicles did not have the connector due to a parts shortage. Based on the referenced posting, I would contact your dealer and ask about it.

UHI..

Think you need to have option 386(its an option over here in Europe ;understood that US-models it comes as standard) installed in your car: (Convenience telephony, with interface for a variety of cradles, in armrest, includes Hands -free system, extended telephony functions and aerial )
Which is the so called UHI interface; as described in the posts above; you get a small connector in the center console into which you can plug your cradle, or bluetooth adapter.

I have a 2007 S550 4matic with the rear AC package and my Bluetooth puck connector is located inside the rear armrest. You may want to try and check for it there...

I didn't see it in there but thanks. I did receive an email back from mbusa that my car is wired for it, but that part didn't come with it. It's funny though, when I open the console, I can see and feel what looks like the outline of the cradle under the felt covering. It feels like a plastic covering for where the cradle is supposed to be and in that half circle shape to.

So I just got an email back from the dealership saying that it would cost $1500 for parts and labor to install even though the car is prewired for it. That's outrageous.
