The Godfather's S550
Hello everyone. Most of you should know me, if you don't, please do your MBworld homework
I picked up an '07 S550 last Tuesday with 49K miles, AMG sport package, panoramic roof, rear seat package, and most other accoutrements. The only thing I'm missing are the night assist, backup camera and trunk closer, all of which I would have loved to get. But if it were between that and the pano and rear seat package, I would take the latter...as I have. :P
I'll post here to show you the progress of the mods.
First, 2010+ LED style taillights. Those are the Eagle Eyes from ExpressParts. I was at first reluctant buying non OEM, but these are very well built. Zero drama to install thanks for Chris The Swede's post. It took me about 8 minutes per taillights. The end result is amazing! What a refresh! And the LED turn signals are crisp!
I have a couple of small mods planned for this week. I'll post pics when I get them installed.
For now, some pics of the car for everyone to enjoy!
Seller's photos:
Photo from my deck.
Ugly stock tails
That's about to change....
AWWWW YEAH!
MUCH better!
That's all for now. Nothing too exciting... yet!

And the plan for this one, is no long *** mod list! Although I'm tempted to go crazy with it, I'm gonna reign it in for a couple of years...if I even keep the car that long LOL.
haha, not quite, but almost! :P
Like I told Sun, probably not gonna get that crazy. It's a bit of a different car than those others. BTW, it was an S4 I modded. I have an A4 as a DD.

So yesterday afternoon I gave a call to Mark Chapparone Jr, from Chapparone Auto Body in San Diego. I'm sure the SD locals know about the shop and the great work they do. Well I don't -I've only heard about it from others.
As I was browsing my Instagram feed, Spencer Berke aka "ThatPhotographer," the official Newport Beach Lamborghini photographer, asked people to follow Mark on IG. Now I had done some business on MBworld in the past where I sold my E55 grill to Mark. While that was the only thing we've ever done, it was done smoothly, and I gave him a decent deal. So I figured, why the hell not, let me hit him up and see if he can help me out with my sidemarkers.
So go back to yesterday. Shortly after noon I connect with him. I tell him that I want OEM sidemarkers color matched in Flint grey and I need them by Friday in my hand. Keep in mind i'm in San Luis Obispo, so I'm half way across the state.
He then sends me this picture today, less than 24 hours from initial contact:
Not only did he get the OEM parts form Mercedes-Benz of San Diego, he also shaved off all the numbers and markings normally found on the lens, thus giving it a smooth look, but he also got them painted and ready to go!
They'll be in my hands by Friday, and I can't wait!
Mad props to Mark and his crew!

Side Markers
So, I don't get it, do they shine through the paint? Or are you just trying to get the marker lamps to disappear?
I'd love to see what this does to the look of the car.

Congratulations - Nice car.
I have the 2008 Flint Grey S550 4Matic with AMG sport and pano roof giving it the subtle two-tone look, plus rear seat package/upgraded leather.
Mine is coming out of winter storage tomorrow - yippee!
Have fun with yours. (Like the plate too)

haha, that's one way to do it... an expensive way to do it!
Werd. Sold it about a month ago. Do I miss it? To some extent... but not really. The S-Class just craps on it 20 fold!
Shoot man, there I was trying to be original! lol :P
