Can anyone tell me what the 39k + tranny service will cost at the Stealership?

In SoCal, the cost varied from $299 to $399 @ MB dealer. I suggest, call & ask before you get there, so, no surprise (usually they will sell you the fuel injection service for another $299). Good luck !

I6 and V6 Diesels
Did mine last November for $399, minus a 13% dealer discount coupon. My indie wanted $275, but couldn't do it for 3 weeks, and I couldn't afford to wait. I also figured, if the dealer screwed it up, it was a bigger company could afford to give me a new one. I did not want to wait, with all of the tranny issues in the 2007 s550, I figured sooner is better.
