Help!!! Need an engine.
I just bought a 2009 S550 with 25k and blew the motor in less than a week. It was a flood car but was driven from Florida to me in NYC and then I test drove it and it was all good. Then when I got my plates I drove it for like 4 days before it just blew up. I was waiting at a red light, when it turned green I nailed it and a piston blew a hole in my block.
Dealer wants like $23000 for a motor. I want a used or rebuilt one but cant find a 09. All I see is 07 with over 100k. And for some reason the salvage yards wont even sell them to me saying they wont fit the 09. Is that true? Dont they all have the same 273 engine? I don't really need anything but the basic long block. Can't I just swap all the electronics and external parts from my engine onto the new one?
I would appreciate any help I can get in locating an engine that fits and possibly saving some money. Thanks...
