wasnt rearview camera standard on all 08 W221's? for a big car its a must have. distronic is great if you drive a lot of highways but you're better off finding one that already has the distronic plus vs. retrofitting

One would think that Distronic would be quite costly to retrofit...assuming that it could be done at all.Can't speak for costs to install the rear view camera.Unlike some (many?) I find the Distronic cruise control to be a bit annoying given *my* type of driving...I'd prefer the old fashioned type.But as for active lane assist and blind spot assist I love it.The rear view camera is outstanding as well.

Not standard, I believe it's only in the p2 and up package or an added option to p1.

I remember someone said that there's already the wires for this in the trunk. You can get cameras that fit on ebay and get your stealer to program it in.
