iPod Integration Kit quality in 2008-2009 vs 2010 W221
I wanted to test out the sound on my iPhone 4, and since it had the ipod integration kit installed, I didn't think it would be a problem. However, when I tried it out, the sound was pretty weak, and nowhere near as good as a CD or even the radio. The dealer had another '08, as well as an '09 and a '10. The sound was pretty bad on both of the '08s and the '09, but was far better on the 2010. I don't think it was my phone, because it worked fine in the 2010 W221 as well as a 2010 W212 I tried.
Is there anything I can do to get same level of sound quality in the '08 W221 as I heard in the '10 W221? At this point, it's all that's keeping me from purchasing the vehicle.
For reference, the '08s and the '09 had one white/gray cable in the glove compartment coming from the internals ending in an iPod connector. The '10 had a black cable that plugged in to a port, and it had both a male iPod connector and a female mini jack. All four cars had bass and treble set to zero, had the fade/balance set to the middle of the car, and had the ProLogic 7 turned on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
