If you have it done, pls. be aware it can effect other functions. If you have it updated and the air conditioner ceases to work, the communcation between COMMAND and the A/C may have been blocked. The compresor and all associated may be fine, but you'll chase it and waste money. Simply have the two "back talking to each other."

Useful to know as this has just happened to me. When you say just have the two back talking to each other, what does that involve exactly ? Is that a STAR machine job or some form of SCN coding or other? Thanks

Prior to TeleMatics update by an MB dlr., my AC was working normally. The full TeleMatics update done at dlr., took hours. Got Birds Eye, DVD video capability etc. I was happy. Sadly and unknown to me, the COMMAND update on my 2007 blew out the unit recognizing there was an AC.
Months later, needing the AC due to weather, there was none. Spent lotsa moola chasing what was wrong. Along the way bought new, espensive AC unit, spent labor etc. w/ an indie. Finally went to MB dlr. $200 and a few minutes of computer time at dlr. got the two again digitally "seeing" each other. Reprogramming by dlr. fixed it and it's been solid since.
No idea why, but TeleMatics update seemed to digitally disconnect the two. Hope my experience may save you some dough, headaches, frustratlon and time.
