Need Advice on buying a 09 S450 4matic
Hi, I'm in the market for a 09 S450 4matic(No AMG package). Anything I should look out for? The car currently have 55000km on it and selling from a MB dealship in Toronto Canada. The in-service date for this car is Sept 2009, therefore the factory warranty will be good for another 9 months. But this is a Star Cert car which will give me another 2 year or upto 120000km factory warranty. As it sits right now, the dealer is asking $46995CAD. What kind of number I should offer them? Should I purchase a longer period of extented warranty?

Hi Alan,
if the car you are talking about is Flint grey, i would probably stay away, that car is from quebec, has a deep scratch on the door into the metal, and i find that dealer not very honest. i actually took that car, then found out they lied to me where the car was from, and ..... long story short they are very dishonest.
my id is still flint grey but now i bought another one different color.

Thanks for the heads up! This car is actually from the MB dealership in London Ontario. I just took a closer look at the qoute and it appears the prev. registr. is in Quebec. Can you tell me more about it? Accident or major problem? They have 3 on the lot right now but my wife only likes this one because of the colour.

yes the london dealer, that's where i drove all the way from toronto and made the purchase and returned it
the car is previously registered in quebec, and they auctioned it back from MB canada,
i think the car is in good condition, it didn't give me any issues for the 2 weeks i drove around in it... i think it has never been repainted, and i think they wouldn't repaint the car for a scratch about 1 cm long deep into the metal, maybe they touched up the scratch. i think they refinished the rims too, had some curb rashes before.
i bought the flint grey from tony, an asian guy, and had many issues with the dealership so after a few complaints got them to take the car back. the problem is not really with the car but with the unethical sales tactics used, tony lied about many things, and tries to cover up his lies

It is a nice vehicle. All depends on condition and there is not much more anyone can tell you without looking at the car, especially professional mechanic.
