An oil burner is an oil burner. Small differences in diesel I thought. I just sold my oil burner in favor of the petrol engine. Here in Norway, diesel has been very popular over the last 10 years. But now most have realized that the best is with a gasoline engine. Especially when it comes to the environment, and the durability of the engines. Oil burners are not designed to run short trips or stand in queue. Intake and EGR valve becomes clogged with soot after a few years.

It's not quite the same as he needs to go to a diesel station that sells ultra low sulfer diesel. Most stations since 2006 carry this diesel but you just have to make sure beforehand.

I own 2 diesels and always buy fuel at HESS in NY or NJ (when I go there). HESS in NY is usually cheaper than other branded stations. I wouldn't go to unbranded to get diesel. BTW, how do you like S350 ? I'm in the process to chose between 2013 GL350 and 2013 S350.

Had my 350 since June and I love it. Two small annoyances. 1) There is a weird hesitation from dead stop to quick go. Seems to be common, but it looks to be just the split second or so for the rpms to come up off 500-550 at idle. But once it's moving, no issues whatsoever. 2) My trim is squeaking in front of the steering wheel, but just haven't had time to bring it in. But otherwise it's been great and gets 24mpg around city driving.

its look like I ll go HESS and Shell for diesel HESS is around new york is owned by HESS (not private owners) and many people says there is wont be tricky diesel at HESS and yes they are cheapest her in New York City

about S350 i used only 100 miles yet but didn't like diesel sound of acceleration
GL is different kind so i can not compare but personally i like SUV more then sedans you higher then other cars and its easy to see traffic in nyc
Good luck with new purchase
