Anyone ever have thermostat issue?

Check engine light came on. Took to service. Code said engine was not getting to proper/full operating temperature or similar words.

Strange. Code shows this can, due to emissions computer, cause car to go to limp mode. This just happened to me some days ago. Restarted and all fine. Just ck. engine light stayed on.

I live in winter climes. It was 25* today. Temp gauge got to only 73-73* centigrade mark after 15+ minutes of driving. Normally gets to and stays aroun 83-84*c range, even in heat.

He cleared code and ck engine hasn't come on since. He said could be thermostat is bad and is causing problems.

Anyone ever have this? 2007 w/ 76000 miles.

Thanks.

Thermostats go bad all the time, they are almost maintenance items.

Your vehicle does NOT have a traditional thermostat. The temperature is controlled by the vehicle electronics. I suggest you have the vehicle computer checked for error codes which should indicate what is causing the problem.
